Bill Adjustment: The City's water bill adjustment policy is: Homeowners are allowed one adjustment per year providing the homeowner can show proof of a leak having been repaired. If the reading is correct, and no leak is present, no adjustment can be made. If the reading is not correct, an adjustment will be made immediately.

How your meter is read: The first number on the right (0) is the stationary number, the sweep hand must make one complete revolution to register ten gallons of usage. The second number from the right (1) registers tens of gallons. The third number from the right (2) registers hundreds. The first black number from the right (5), with the white background, registers thousands. The second black number from the right (2), with the white background, registers tens of thousands and so on.

Example 1: The reading of 0025.210 shown on the **illustration** would verify usage of the 25 thousand, 2 hundred and ten gallons.

Example 2: A reading of 0031.310 would verify usage of 31 thousand, 3 hundred and ten gallons. If your previous reading was: 0025.210 and your current reading is: 0031.310 your monthly usage would be: 6 thousand, 1 hundred gallons

Note: The small triangle shaped indicator to the left of the sweep hand is a leak indicator. This indicator is very sensitive, and may move back and forth slightly because of movement of the water in the line. However, if this indicator moves slowly in a clockwise direction with the water turned off, you have a leak. The faster this indicator turns, the worse the leak.
